Nutrients

A Nutrient is a substance that provides nourishment essential for growth and the maintenance of life.

Food provides a range of different nutrients. Some nutrients provide energy, while others are essential for growth and maintenance of the body. They are the raw materials and basis for personalized cellular nutrition.

Proteins and fat are macronutrients that we need to eat in relatively large amounts in the diet as they provide our bodies with energy and also the building blocks for growth and maintenance of a healthy body. Some carbohydrates are also important. Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients which we need to intake daily in measured amounts but are essential to keep us healthy. In order to move well and have sustained health, each person’s unique nutrient requirements want to be taken in – daily. There are also some food components that are not strictly ‘nutrients’ but are important for health, such as water and fiber.

Over the last 30 years, due to soil degradation from factory farming, GMOs, pesticide, herbicide, fungicide usage and processed foods, as people are filled with toxins and unable to get all the nutrients they need by eating even a healthy, varied diet, supplementation is mandatory.
